DescriptionThis plant is a saprophyte about 4 - 10 inches tall that lacks chlorophyll and is completely white or occasionally pale pink. The leaves are reduced to scales and a single nodding white flower is produced at the tip of the stem. The fruit turns upright and the plant becomes dark brown or black as the fruit develops.
CommentOften associated with pine or hemlock stands.
