Male identification:

  • Labrum and face blue, postocular spots blue.
  • Thorax mostly blue. Elongate blue triangle on dorsum of S2 (3/4 length of segment).
  • S4-7 black with at most a basal blue ring.
  • S8-9 blue on dorsum, S10 black.

Local distribution: Western slope to 1500 m.

Habitat: Forest streams.

Species range: Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela
