Male identification:

  • Labrum black, postclypeus and postocular spots sky blue.
  • Eyes sky blue below.
  • Antehumeral stripe orange-tan.
  • Mesepimeron all black.
  • Metepimeron and metepisternum sky blue with a black stripe over the suture.
  • S2 black with a blue lateral stripe and a dorsal blue spot.
  • S3 with a long blue triangle on dorsum; S4 with a short triangle.
  • S5-8 all black, S9-10 sky blue on dorsum. Antenodals 4/3.
  • Lower appendage 2-lobed in profile, like oculata group.
  • Upper appendage shorter than lower.

Local distribution: Western lowlands (400 m).

Habitat: Open areas along medium to large rivers.

Abundance: Rare.
