Male identification:

  • Mostly blue.
  • S3-6 with blue dorsal triangles.
  • Dorsum of S8-10 blue, except for a conspicuous black tip on S8.
  • Wings become amber-tinted with age.

Female identification:

  • Tip of ovipositor extends beyond cerci.

Male abdomen length: 27.0-29.0

Male hind wing length: 19.0-20.0

Female abdomen length: 28.0

Female hind wing length: 21.0

Local distribution: Eastern lowlands to 600 m.

Habitat: Sunny spots along small to medium streams.

Abundance: Uncommon.

Species range: Honduras, Costa Rica to Panama, South America
