Male identification:

  • Frons black above, lacking a T-shaped mark.
  • Thorax green-brown with large black patch on side.
  • Black patch at wing base, the on in hindwing twice the size of that in forewing.

Female identification:

  • Frons black above, lacking a T-shaped mark.
  • Black patch at base of both wings, almost reaching anal loop in hindwing.

Similar species:

Male abdomen length: 58.0

Male hind wing length: 55.0

Habitat: Small ponds and pools in forest.

Abundance: Uncommon.

Species range: Costa Rica to Panama, South America
