Male identification:

  • Narrow brown mark on mesepisternum.
  • Frons red-brown, unmarked.
  • Genital lobe not as prominent as in C. diapyra.
  • Tibia mostly black, pale orange-brown in diapyra.
  • Lower appendage half as long as cercus.

Male abdomen length: 47.0

Male hind wing length: 49.0

Female abdomen length: 52.0-53.0

Female hind wing length: 51.0

Local distribution: Eastern slope at 900 - 1000 m.

Habitat: Slow-flowing rivers in forested areas.

Abundance: Rare.

Species range: Costa Rica, Panama, and widespread in South America
