Coryphaeschna adnexa (Hagen, 1861)Aeshnidae

Male identification:

  • Thorax green.
  • Abdomen dark red-brown.
  • Black T-spot on top of frons.
  • Face blue.
  • Size like Triacanthagyna, with abdomen 44-48 mm, smaller than C. viriditas.
  • Epiproct 1/3 as long as cercus.

Female identification:

  • Black T-mark on frons extending over transverse groove on anterior side. Dorsum of S8-9 red brown, not black. Small size, abdomen 47-48 mm.

Female abdomen length: 52.0-54.0

Female hind wing length: 52.0

Abundance: Rare.

Species range: USA, Mexico, Guatemala to Panama, South America
