Male identification:

  • S7 with a subapical blue band that is narrow on the dorsum and broadens as it extends to the lower side.
  • Upper appendage with a subapical indentation on the upper edge.

Male abdomen length: 24.0-25.0

Male hind wing length: 16.0-17.0

Female abdomen length: 22.0-24.0

Female hind wing length: 17.0-18.0

Local distribution: Eastern lowlands to about 400 m.

Habitat: Isolated ponds in sunny areas.

Abundance: Common.

Species range: Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil
