Male identification:

  • Top of thorax with a longitudinal stripe and a posterior spot, side with three pale stripes.
  • Legs all black.

Female identification:

  • Similar to male.

Size: Large

Body length: 62.0

Local distribution: Pacific slope at 500 - 700 m.

Habitat: Slow-flowing areas of rivers and streams in forest.

Species range in Middle America: Mexico, Guatemala to Costa Rica
