Male identification:

  • Top of frons with pale stripe broken in middle.
  • Post-occipital shelf all pale dorsally.
  • First antehumeral stripe separate from collar stripe.
  • Second antehumeral stripe complete, but partly interrupted near posterior spot.
  • Three lateral stripes complete.

Local distribution: Atlantic lowlands.

Habitat: Small forest streams.

Species range in Middle America: Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica
