Male identification:

  • Thorax brown with three yellow-green lateral stripes and one dorsal line.
  • Upper appendage with both a dorsal and a ventral tooth.
  • Lower appendage strongly curled upward.

Female identification:

  • Color pattern like male.
  • The deep channel between the lateral ocelli has incurved sides.

Size: Medium

Body length: 42.0-43.0

Local distribution: Pacific slope at 50 - 600 m.

Habitat: Streams and rivers.

Species range in Middle America: Costa Rica to Panama
