Male identification:

  • Thorax brown with three yellow-green lateral stripes and one dorsal stripe.
  • Upper appendage with a stout subapical tooth on dorsal side, no tooth on ventral side.
  • Lower appendage strongly curled upward.

Female identification:

  • Color pattern like male.
  • The deep channel between the lateral ocelli has parallel sides.

Body length: 40.0-43.0

Local distribution: Pacific slope at 700 m; Atlantic lowlands.

Habitat: Small streams in forest.

Species range in Middle America: Mexico, Honduras to Costa Rica
