Male identification:

  • Frons and vertex dull metallic purple-blue.
  • Eyes meeting along a broad line.
  • Thorax brown with metallic green sides.
  • Abdomen black, unmarked.
  • Anal loop shaped like a wind sock.

Female identification:

  • Similar to male.

Body length: 52.0

Local distribution: Atlantic slope at 700 to 800 m.

Habitat: Streams in forest.

Species range in Middle America: Mexico, Costa Rica to Panama, South America
