Male identification:

  • Head with a thick black bar between eyes.
  • Thorax blue on sides, black on dorsum.
  • Abdomen mostly black with dorsun of S8-10 blue; S8 with a dorsal, apical black triangle.

Size: Small

Body length: 29.0-30.0

Local distribution: Lowlands on both slopes.

Habitat: Ponds in open areas.

Species range in Middle America: USA, Mexico, Guatemala to Panama, South America
