Male identification:

  • Face black, back of eyes red.
  • Thorax orange-brown, abdomen mostly black.
  • Dorsal thoracic horns gradually converging at tips.

Female identification:

  • Labrum and postclypeus orange-tan with black markings.
  • Rear lobe of pronotum with a black mark in center.

Size: Medium

Body length: 43.0

Local distribution: Pacific lowlands to 200 m.

Habitat: Swampy spring seeps in forest.

Species range in Middle America: Guatemala to Panama
