Male identification:

  • Face dark brown-black.
  • Thorax pale orange-brown.
  • Abdomen mostly dark.
  • Dorsal thoracic horns with strongly diverging tips.

Female identification:

  • Labrum and postclypeus black.
  • Rear lobe of pronotum uniformly orange.

Size: Medium

Body length: 44.0-45.0

Local distribution: Atlantic lowlands to 250 m.

Habitat: Swampy areas in forest and forest edge.

Species range in Middle America: Guatemala to Panama
