Male identification:

  • Head black with broad blue postocular triangles.
  • Thorax pale green.
  • Abdomen S1 green with black dorsum; S3 red-orange.

Female identification:

  • Thorax with green antehumeral stripe.
  • Ovipositor longer than cerci.

Size: Small

Body length: 29.0-31.0

Local distribution: Lowlands on both slopes to about 200 m..

Habitat: Isolated ponds, temporary pools, and roadside ditches in sun.

Species range in Middle America: Mexico, Guatemala to Panama, South America
