Male identification:

  • Wings tinted.
  • Strong antehumeral stripe.
  • S3 half blue on top, S3-7 black, S8-9 blue on top.

Female identification:

  • Wings yellowish.
  • Dorsum of S3 half blue, of S4 black. Mesepisternum with black wider than bordering blue stripe.
  • Larger.

Size: Large

Body length: 43.0-44.0

Local distribution: Atlantic slope and cloud forest above 1300 m.

Habitat: Sunny areas along small forested streams; rarely at isolated ponds in forest.
