Male identification:

  • Larger.
  • Dorsal blue triangle of S6 only half the segment length.
  • Blue on basal half of S8 extending to underside, leaving a black triangle toward posterior end.

Female identification:

  • Dorsum of S8 all black.
  • Antenodal cells 3-3.
  • Stigma about 1.2 cells long.

Size: Small

Body length: 31.0-35.0

Local distribution: Atlantic lowlands to 600 m.

Habitat: Small streams in forest.

Species range in Middle America: Costa Rica

Female abdomen length: 24

Female hindwing length: 19
