Male identification:

  • Eyes red.
  • Face dull orange.
  • Top of thorax with red metallic reflectance.
  • Top of abdomen blue except for S7.

Female identification:

  • Labrum without dark metallic reflectance; a dark metallic stripe on central of postclypeus

Size: Medium

Body length: 36.0-38.0

Local distribution: Both slopes from lowlands to 700 m.

Habitat: Riffle areas of clear-running streams and rivers.

Species range in Middle America: USA, Mexico, Guatemala to Panama, South America
