Male identification:

  • Pale marks between postocular spots.
  • A long blue triangle on S3, S4-7 black above, S8-9 blue above.
  • Lower appendage with a long point.

Female identification:

  • Wings clear.
  • Dorsum of S8-9 all pale.
  • A bold black stripe on side of S9.
  • Pale markings sky blue.
  • Pale marks between postocular spots.

Size: Small

Body length: 31.0-34.0

Local distribution: Atlantic slope from lowlands to 1200 m.

Habitat: Small streams and marshy seeps in open areas.

Species range in Middle America: Costa Rica
