Male identification:

  • Antenodal cells 5 on forewing, 4 on hindwing.
  • Mesepimeron about half blue.
  • Larger species, more than 40 mm.
  • Upper appendage with inner lobe long and straight, not hook-like.

Size: Medium

Body length: 40.0-42.0

Local distribution: Pacific slope at 300 - 500 m. Northern Atlantic lowlands.

Habitat: Streams and rivers in forest.

Species range in Middle America: Nicaragua and Costa Rica
