Male identification:

  • Mostly blue.
  • S3-7 mostly blue on top.
  • S8-10 blue on dorsum, black on lower sides.
  • Appendages short.

Female identification:

  • Large.
  • Mostly pale on dorsum of thorax and abdomen.
  • Dorsum of S8-9 with distinct black markings.

Size: Large

Body length: 44.0-47.0

Local distribution: Above 1100 m on boths slopes.

Habitat: Streams and small rivers in forest and open areas.

Species range in Middle America: Mexico, Belize to Panama
