Male identification:

  • Mostly blue.
  • S3-6 with blue dorsal triangles.
  • Dorsum of S8-10 blue, except for a conspicuous black tip on S8.
  • Wings amber-tinted with age.

Female identification:

  • Tip of ovipositor extends beyond cerci.

Size: Small

Body length: 33.0-34.0

Local distribution: Both slopes from 50 - 500 m.

Habitat: Sunny spots along small to medium streams.

Species range in Middle America: Honduras to Costa Rica, South America
