  • Lower appendage very short.
  • Red hindwing patch truncated.
  • Postclypeus metallic blue-green.

Female identification:

  • Stigma present.
  • Metallic markings green.
  • Stripe on mesepimeron reaches posterior end.
  • Postclypeus with metallic green.

Size: Large

Body length: 45.0-50.0

Local distribution: Pacific slope at 300 - 1330 m; Atlantic slope at 600 - 1200 m.

Habitat: Small clear streams in forest.

Species range in Middle America: Mexico to Panama, South America
