Male identification:

  • Thorax dark brown with broad dark green stripes.
  • Femori of fore and mid legs mostly black, hind femur red-brown with black apex.
  • Abdomen dark brown with dark green markings.

Size: Large

Local distribution: Atlantic lowlands to 800 m.

Habitat: Temporary ponds in forest .

Species range in Middle America: Belize, Costa Rica to Panama, South America
