Male identification:

  • Eyes green.
  • Thorax brown with two bold lime green lateral stripes with kinks.
  • Abdomen dark with extensive fine green markings and blue at base.

Female identification:

  • Similar to male, but lacks blue trim and yellow-green markings not as bright.

Size: Large

Body length: 59.0-61.0

Local distribution: Pacific slope at 1000 to 1500 m.

Habitat: Sunny ponds.

Species range in Middle America: USA, Mexico, Guatemala to Panama, South America
