Male identification:

  • Eyes blue.
  • Thorax brown with two narrow blue lateral lines.
  • Abdomen dark with blue markings.
  • Upper appendages forked in lateral view.

Female identification:

  • Similar to male, but blue markings yellow-green.

Size: Very large

Body length: 66.0-70.0

Local distribution: Pacific slope at 1100 to 1500 m.

Habitat: Sunny ponds.

Species range in Middle America: Mexico, Guatemala to Panama
