  Clearwing pattern similar in both sexes.
  Forewing black with basal transparent area and postdiscal white stripe.
  Hindwing transparent bordered by black.
  Male forewing narrow with black more extensive than in female.
  Underside with marginal white spots and red-orange within black border.

Local distribution: 50-51 mm

Abundance: Rare

Local distribution: Rare on upper Pacific slope (1200-1500 m); more common on Atlantic slope from lowlands to 1400 m.

Species range: Mexico to Brazil

Comments: The female is a remarkably accurate mimic of some of the clearwinged ithomiine species. The male has transparen areas in the wings, but the shape and coloring are not as close to th models as in the female.
