  Sexes distinct.
  Male forewing black with cream spots.
  Hindwing broad, central bright orange area bordered by black.
  Female forewing black with red-orange at base, yellow spots in distal half.
  Hindwing red-orange with broad black border; no central bar.
  Both wings with series of three yellow spots at apex.

Local distribution: 55-70 mm
