Abundance
  Sexes distinct.
  Male: orange with thick black post-discal bar and black borders on both wings.
  No central hindwing bar.
  Paler below with larger spots and cream stripe on coastal margin at base.
  Female: forewing black with five cream-yellow spots and additional spots bordering margin.
  Hindwing orange-brown with black border; yellow spots within the border accentuated below.

Local distribution: 47-54 mm
