  Sexes very similar.
  Forewing mostly black with dull orange-cream spots in distal half.
  Hindwing orange-brown bordered by black; no central black bar.
  Underside similar, but washed out; black border with pairs of white spots.

Local distribution: 68-70 mm

Local distribution: Pacific slope from lowlands to 1500 m.

Species range: Guatemala to Brazil

Comments: I have observed oviposition on Passiflora at 1350 m in Monteverde, but the normal breeding habitat in our area is below 700 m where Erblichia occurs. This species is sometimes a common migrant through Monteverde in November-December.
