Identification: Like H. euclea, but translucent; dorsal forewing lacks yellow marginal spots; yellow and black on forewing variable; hindwing discal bar variable.

Local distribution: Atlantic slope from about 400-800 m elevation.

Species range: Nicaragua to South America

Abundance: Rare

Comments: Recorded once at San Gerardo (1100 m) and once near La Tigra (450 m).
