Identification: Antennae black, forewing costa all black, ventral forewing border with white spot line, markings blacker than fulvimargo.

Local distribution: Most common on Pacific slope at 1300-1500 m; occasional on Atlantic slope from 700-1200 m (rarely down to 250 m).
