DescriptionA deciduous fern from a creeping rhizome. It has two types of leaves, a fertile one with bead-like leaflets and a sterile one with pinnately veined leaflets that have a wavy margin. The lower most pair of leaflets (pinnae) are separate from the others but the upper most are typically connected by leafly segments to the rachis or midrib of the leaf.
